Amélie’s Table Runner   20"x45"

This pattern is named after my granddaughter, Amélie, who loves life and is always bringing joy into our lives. After designing the quilt, Le Jardin d'Amélie, I wanted to make a table runner that would be based on the same theme as that of the larger quilt.

I really enjoy adding stitchery (embroidery) to my quilts and this allows the possibility of another dimension in quilting. The pieced star blocks display the contrast in the colour choices.

I made this table runner using the Moda “Rouinneres” fabric line which will be reprinted in January, 2012.  However, it can be made in a variety of colours to match your décor.

Finished Dimensions:

The finished table runner measures 20" X 45".

Payment:

We accept payment through Pay Pal in US Dollars.  Payment for purchases must be made in full within 2 days before the item is shipped. Send me an e-mail and I will send you an invoice.

Blue Dogwood     60" X 60"

Do you ever pick up a piece of fabric and can feel it calling out to you?  I felt this way when I saw Michael Miller’s Collection called “Dogwood”.  The colours in it were stunning, the flower inspiring, and the repeat pattern was striking.  From the minute I saw the fabric, my creative juices started flowing and ideas were pouring out of me.  One of these ideas materialized into the appliqué block that is seen in this quilt.  I loved creating this block and loved combining both appliqué and stitchery (embroidery) to make it stand out.

I can imagine many more colour combinations and fabric combinations for this quilt.  I already have fabrics that I would use to make another one, if time would allow.  This quilt would be so beautiful using a Japanese floral print for the border. Once you find a border print that you love, the colours for the other blocks will be found easily.

I know you will enjoy making this quilt – and I hope that as you make it, your creative juices will flow as well.

Blue Tulips  68"x80"

After completing the two patterns (Le Jardin d’Amelie and Amelie’s Table Runner),  I knew I had to make another design with my favourite colour – blue.

So I came up with the design for Blue Tulips. I have always loved tulips and I like the combination of stars and tulips in the quilt.

It is basically a two block design that repeats the blocks to provide interest.

The quilt has a total of 32 blocks on point – 20 stars and 12 blue tulips. The blue tulip block has both stitchery and appliqué.  I love the challenge of using both techniques and I think it adds something unique to the quilt.

The taupe and the navy provide a visual contrast and this effect could be achieved with many other colour combinations.

You could change the border if you wish and just add a variety of different colour borders or have fun making the Seminole pieced border.

I hope you enjoy making this quilt and enjoy the beautiful finished product as much as I did.

Le Jardin d’Amélie    80"x80"

Inspiration can come from many sources.  I often get inspired by the beautiful view from my deck or from memories of time gone by.  My grandchildren provide a lot of inspiration as they are all very creative and so willing to share their ideas, their drawings, or their creations.

My granddaughter frequently spends time on my computer, designing quilts with my quilt design program. She was the source of inspiration for this quilt pattern, which is named after her.

This quilt design has a total of 25 blocks - 13 star blocks repeated throughout the quilt and 12 blocks that use both appliqué and stitchery (also called embroidery). The appliqué/stitchery blocks have a unique floral design that changes in each of the 12 blocks. I loved the challenge of using both techniques and I think it adds something unique to the quilt.

I also really love the quiet contrast between the red and taupe in the fabrics of this quilt but many other colours would work to create your own unique quilt.  This is one of the many joys of creating quilts – playing with all the colour and fabric combinations.

I made this quilt using Moda “Rouinerres” fabrics which will be reprinted in January, 2010.  I hope you enjoy making this quilt and enjoy the beautiful finished product as much as I did.

Oh Baby!

Make this two block baby quilt and a boot to match for that new baby.

The quilt consists of two blocks repeated throughout and can be made with just two fabrics.

The baby boot is fun and easy to make and adds a special touch for a baby shower gift.

Fill it with rattles, face cloths, and other fun toys.
